2010 Tryouts Information

All tryouts, other than baseball Juniors, are being held at Clayton Valley high school on the Minor B or Majors fields, field conditions permitting. If it is too wet to use the fields then tryouts will be held on the blacktop adjacent to the tennis courts at CVHS. Specific tryout times will be emailed prior to your player's tryout date as well as being posted on this page. Please arrive at least 20 minutes prior to your scheduled time to check in and warm up.

Players should bring their glove, bat, batting helmet and wear cleats if available. Bats and batting helmets will also be available for all players.

Tryouts usually last about 30 minutes and include batting, base running, fielding at 2nd and short stop, fly balls in the outfield and pitching (optional).

• 3 grounders at shortstop w/a throw to first base
• 3 pop flies (usually thrown instead of hit)
• 5 pitches from the pitching machine to hit and then a run around the bases after the last pitch
• If they want to try pitching, 4 pitches from the mound.

CVLL needs volunteers to help on all days of tryouts. Tryouts typically run from approximately 9-2 and are a GREAT opportunity for earning points towards fulfilling your Volunteer Requirement. Volunteers can help shepherding kids before and during their sessions, field prep, running pitching machines, playing first base, etc. Contact us at info@cvll.org to let us know that you want to help out.
