Make-up Tryouts Info for 1/21 or 1/22

Makeup tryouts for baseball Majors, Minor A and Minor B, as well as softball Majors, and original tryouts for Farm A and 50/70 are now set for this weekend.

Tryouts for BB Majors, BB Minor A, BB Minor B, Softball Majors and BB Farm A are indoors at the Diablo View middle school gym this Sunday January 22 from 4 pm to 9 pm (the only times the gym was available).

50/70 tryouts will be on the CVCHS blacktop on Saturday January 21 from 3 pm to 5 pm and you should get a further email from the league/coach in this regard shortly.

We will be drafting teams next week so please ensure your child shows up for his/her assigned time so they can be evaluated.  Please note that T-ball and Farm B DO NOT TRYOUT AND ARE ASSIGNED TEAMS and if you signed your child up for those divisions you will be getting an email later in the month.

For Minor Softball we are still working on getting managers/coaches and so tryouts will be held the weekend of January 28th and 29th and you will get an email next week with times and locations.

For Mini-Minor Softball you will be assigned teams with no tryouts and will be notified in the near future.

For Junior/Senior Softball, you should have received an email already from manager David Shuey.  If not, please email him as noted below.

For Challengers, there are no tryouts and you will be organized into teams shortly.

Any other questions please send email to player agent David Shuey at Shuey@rankinlaw.com

Some important items to remember

  1. If we use the GYM, NO CLEATS.  Bring tennis shoes only!
  2. Bring gloves and helmets and bats if you have them.  We will provide helmets and bats for any who do not have
  3. Please arrive AT LEAST 15 minutes prior to your tryout time to check in and get ready.  We are on a tight schedule and we would appreciate your courtesy.
  4. Do not try and arrive for a different time or division slot for your baseball tryouts as the coaches for your particular division may not be there to evaluate your son and that can effect whether they are drafted up into the next division or remain down in the division they were in last year (unless you have signed them up for same division as last year in which case they will remain as requested).  In other words, if your son is registered for majors but shows up for tryouts during the Minor B time the Majors coaches will not be there to evaluate and it is possible your son is not drafted up to the Majors but stays down in Minor A.
  5. Please try and make arrangements to make your assigned time as it creates chaos if you try and move and we are all volunteers with real jobs and lives and it takes tremendous time to change so please be courteous and arrive at the assigned time.
  6. If your son or daughter is not given an assigned time slot when sent out please email player agent David Shuey at shuey@rankinlaw.com.  In your email, please provide the following information
    1. your son/daughters full name
    2. your child’s age
    3. your child’s division and team they played on last year
    4. division signed up for this year
    5. a cell phone where you can be reached.

FARM A PARENTS - WE NEED MANAGERS & COACHES

CVLL had an unusually large number of recent sign-ups and we are in need of 1-2 Managers and 7 Coaches to assist this season.  Ideally we would like to have these Managers/Coaches in time to attend tryouts on 1/22 in order to evaluate players.  If you are interested, please contact Farm A VP - Scott Seppala @ sseppala@valleyrelocation.com
